Our Therapy Dog Training Calgary SW
We offer one of the most comprehensive therapy dog programs in Calgary, built for aspiring therapy dog teams! Our Therapy Tails Program starts with the essentials for the job, including obedience, manners, and teamwork (Level 1), and then layers in therapeutic skills and working tasks (Level 2), followed by public access readiness (Level 3). We also offer a community-based Level 4 for ongoing support and training.
Whether you're dreaming of working as a therapy dog team in hospitals, schools, or seniors’ residences, or working toward service dog certification under Alberta’s owner-trained provision, we’re here to help.
Classes are led by Cat Harbord, who brings extensive experience in therapy dog training (and assessment for two of Alberta’s four therapy dog certification organizations), service dogs (as the former puppy program lead in Calgary for one of Alberta’s largest service dog organizations), and animal-assisted interventions—plus a serious (and admittedly nerdy) passion for helping dogs and humans grow together.
Start at Level 1 and work through the stages until you and your dog are ready to certify and take on the world—cape optional.
