Our Story
ImPAWSible Possible Inc traces its roots back to 2005 when our founder, Cat, entered the dog community with a passion to make a difference. Previously working as an aircraft dispatcher, Cat realized that despite the stability and benefits of her job, she lacked passion. In pursuit of her true calling, she ventured into the pet industry, starting a small pet clothing company in Calgary, Alberta, which sold products both in-store and online.
In 2007, Cat expanded her involvement in the dog world by launching a dog walking and running company. However, she soon encountered behaviour challenges with her client’s dogs that sparked her interest in dog training and behaviour. Initially self-educated and making mistakes along the way, Cat’s journey took a turn just before the inception of ImPAWSible Possible.
Facing personal struggles and contemplating leaving the industry, Cat experienced a transformative moment following a personal tragedy. This marked a turning point, leading her to redefine her vision of making a difference in the lives of dogs and their owners, one dog at a time.
Thus, ImPAWSible Possible was born.
As ImPAWSible Possible grew, Cat’s dedication to learning and improving her craft intensified. In 2015-2016, she found herself at a crossroads, realizing the limitations of prevailing training methods in addressing complex behavior issues, particularly with her own dog, Mouse, a long-term shelter resident from the Bow Valley SPCA in Cochrane, Alberta.
Fueled by a desire to find innovative solutions, Cat delved into systems thinking, exploring new perspectives and approaches to dog training and behaviour. This shift marked the birth of ImPAWSible Possible as we know it today.
Since then, ImPAWSible Possible has been at the forefront of innovation in the dog training industry. Cat’s commitment to excellence led her to study systems thinking at Cornell University under Dr. Laura and Derek Cabrera, making ImPAWSible Possible the first training company in the world to incorporate a systems thinking approach.
Driven by a passion for providing the best possible dog training and behaviour services to Calgary and beyond, ImPAWSible Possible continues to evolve, drawing from a unique systems thinking lens to empower dogs, owners, and professionals alike.
